Tip #51: Cut a slot or hole in a shelf to hold tools.

Not for everyone but useful for some:

For drills and drivers, use a holesaw to make a hole in a shelf that the chuck can holster into. Might not work as well for shorter brushless tools.

For circular saws, use the saw to cut a slot in the shelf and store the saw with the blade in the slot. You need to be mindful of the blade! It shouldn't protrude below the shelf if hands will be there.

This probably works better when you have lots of the same type of tool and more space to work with, but it's a very simple way to keep things neat.
