Dave's Chevy Astro work van is set up for HVAC and refrigeration service work.

Gettin' Paid

Dave is an independent dude, so he has an onboard printer, Ipad, and Square card reader for printin' invoices and gettin' paid. He carries a power inverter to provide juice to the printer and charge batteries.

Compact and Organized

The van came with steel racking when he bought it, but he added a few Crescent Jobox products to keep him organized, including:

  • a 36" wide x 50" long x 6" tall floor drawer system, accessible from the rear doors
  • a stack of 4 12" wide x 50" long x 6" tall, accessible from the side doors

Astro Vans aren't big! But this works out well as many tools, parts, and tanks are within reach from the side or rear doors.

The 36" x 50" box replaced a larger tool box, and he says this now gives him the space to easily haul a condensing unit or evap coil.

A Detailed Inventory

Want to know what you should be carrying as a service tech?

Dave gives a pretty comprehensive inventory of tools and parts he carries for HVAC and refrigeration service, including some tech to interface with his iPhone and iPad since he doesn't carry a laptop. Stuff that gets used a lot is located close to the doors.

The aluminum Jobox drawers keep parts and tools even more accessible as they can be fully extended. Stuff that sits at the back of a drawer (deep in the van) magically appears at the door when the drawer is pulled out!

A Little More...

Dave reminds you not to forget the extra layers, beanie, and gloves for walk-in units!
