ABOUT THE ORGANIZER

Fox Family Heating and Air Conditioning

Fox Family Heating and Air Conditioning

Rancho Cordova, CA USA

Greg's truck is somewhat unique in the HVAC world - it's a pickup! He uses it for heating and AC work in the Sacramento, CA area.

Even though it's older than the Ford pickup it replaced, Greg says he loves this truck.

The whole setup is pretty low-bling but very functional. Packout walls are cool, but Greg shows that you don't need one to build a successful HVAC business!

His Youtube channel is filled with great videos about the HVAC business, from technical videos to advice on running your own HVAC business. Greg got a later start in the HVAC biz, so if you're looking for inspiration, he's your guy!

No Climb

Generally, this truck is organized so that the majority of parts are accessible either from the side doors or the bedside toolboxes. A large shop vac, oxyacetylene tanks, nitrogen tanks, and refrigerant tanks are the only things that would require jumping in the bed.

A collapsible ladder at the rear of the bed is easy to grab off the back for low-height jobs, and larger ladders are mounted on a ladder rack.

Doesn't Stuff Get Wet?

Greg points out that he's in Southern California - it's pretty dry there. When they get rain, it's only in the winter. It's easy to shelter the few items in the bed.

You couldn't replicate this setup in the Pacific northwest or on the east coast and have peace of mind because you'd spend a lot more time being worried about wet weather.

The Cab

Greg makes it sound like the cab is a mess, but it's organized and probably one of the cleaner cabs that you'll see.

It's a crew cab and so he uses the space behind the front seat to store most of his smaller tools. He even still has the factory rear seats still installed.

On the driver side, he has one main tool bag, a Veto Pro Pac backpack. An open bin holds several other small hand tools.

He keeps a few condenser and blower motors on the floor, and power tools are accessible from the other side of the truck. Gauges hang from conduit clamps attached to the ceiling.

High Side Toolboxes

No utility body on this truck! Greg uses Weather Guard Hi-Side Toolboxes on each side of the pickup's bed to keep tools and parts organized and locked away. The doors fold down and can function like a small table when open.

These toolboxes hold parts and smaller tools. These are super clean and organized!
